Our memories have not faded and we still fondly think of Joe. He was full of life and always welcoming. It is difficult to think of one specific instance that stands out above the others, but we do remember his pleasure in showing us his paintings and talking about his times in art school. We miss him.

Time passes but brings sweetness to the memories of those we love. We think of Joe and remember his caring personality, his love of laughter, and his wisdom. Joe was one of those people who you don't forget, and only wish more were like him.

Joe was a special person who touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. His bright spirit and cheerful personality were a testimony to his inner character. We will miss him but are thankful we had a chance to know him.

Nature
As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.
