Grandma,
I will miss you dearly. You have been my best friend for years. I remember when you came to my wedding in 1994. You wrote a poem for me, it was the best present. I came to visit you every chance I could. I know that I will never see you again, but you will stay in my heart forever.
Loving you always,

Grandma:
Although I really didn't get to know you like my sister Kesia did I am glad she told me wonderful stories of you. I was at your service and spoke to you when I was at your side as you were resting and felt a connection with you. I'm sorry I didn't get to know you real well but I do love you and I thank you for getting the opportunity to know you and because of you I met so many of my cousins. I will miss you and always love you.
Your name will definitely live on and I am so glad I can pass it on and one day name one of my sons Haskel Porter also.
I love you.

We would like to thank first and foremost Patricia Broadnax for taking care of her mother doing whatever was necessary and putting herself second. She cared for mother with tender loving care and I commend her for that. I would also like to thank family members, friends of the family, Baker-Isaac Funeral Home, New Hope Church, Rev. David Miller and his wonderful staff for the many things they did for our family. I, Haskel Porter am one of Lillian's twelve children and I am so glad I visited Mom, bought her dresses and other little gifts of love. Just watching her as she lay in her bed peacefully meant so much to me knowing my sister Patricia Broadnax was responsible that Mother was comfortable, well fed, well cared for and so many other things I could say about Patricia but then it would take up pages of words. Sis, I love you so much for taking care of Mommie for all of my brothers and sisters. You didn't have to do all what you did yet you put your own life on hold and gave all your love and attention to Mommie. We will never forget what you did and how you cared for Mommie.
We just want to thank anyone who had a kind word to say, or gave flowers, people who showed up at the services and all the wonderful people who showed up at Pattie's to talk, or have something to eat and drink. This meant so much to all of us. We Porter's stick together and will not let Mommie's memory die. Mom was a strong, loving, independent women who worked so hard in the PT community, became everyone's mother and gave so much of herself to others. We love you Mom and your name will live on.
Sadly missed,
Haskel & Barbara Porter

Lillian was a good friend and traveling companion of my Mother, Jessie Marrow, who predeceased her in May, 2002. May they meet in heaven and continue their journey together as traveling buddies, uniting with their husbands as they travel through eternity together, where there's no more sickness or sorrow, and the weary shall be at rest, and all their days henceforth shall be Sundays and they shall be bless. Love, Audrey Marrow-Barr
