Megan Arnett Obituary
ARNETT -Megan Elisa Nichelle Arnett, born May 18, 1974 in Palo Alto, CA., died in an automobile accident outside Shreveport, LA, June 20th. She is survived by her parents, Mahlon and Robbi Arnett of Hutto; brother and sister-in-law Bert and Kim Arnett and nephews Jon and Mackenzy of Hutto; brother, Mahlon (Tres) of Anchorage, Alaska; aunt and uncle Warren and Isabel Arnett of Pasadena, CA.; her godmother, Elisa Najera of Lake Forest, CA.; numerous cousins; grandmother, Jeannette Hunt of Dallas; her beloved pets ( 2 dogs, 6 cats, 2 rabbits, a guinea pig and two turtles). She was preceded in death by her grandmother Martha Arnett of Pasadena, CA.; and great-grandmother Jocelyn Richey of Dallas, TX. Megan attended schools in Simsbury, CT., Redwood City And San Carlos, CA. She was a 1993 graduate of Leander High School and had just received her BS in Sociology from Pittsburg State University, Pi ttsburg, KS, in May of this year. Megan was active in 4-H from the time she was nine, participating in a wide variety of projects and activities from project meetings to state competitions in CA. as well as TX. She was awarded the Gold Star in 1991 and served a President of the Williamson County 4-H Council. Her major project was Dog Care and Training and she was a tireless volunteer for and supporter of the Humane Society of Williamson County. Her record book earned her a trip in 1991 to National 4-H Cong ress in Chicago and she was also Williamson County Sheriffs Posse Sweetheart in 1993. Megan was fiercely loyal to her friends and family; she was often the first one to offer help in a crisis, always remembered birthdays, and always made time to listen (when she wasnt lecturing). She was Auntie Mame to her nephews who loved her spontaneity and sense of fun and adventure. She was: opinionated, flighty, dyslexic, fun loving, studious, creative, exasperating, determined, artistic, loving, and energetic. Life will be less exciting without her. Services will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, June 28th at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Lynn Weir will be officiating the Service. Internment will follow immediately in the family plot. Everyone is invited to join a celebration of her life (food, drink, music) at the Arnetts home on CR 130 in Hutto.
