I am so grateful to have known Mr. Slade. I was very fond of his cooky humor, charm, and endless knowledge. I recall his telling of the Berlin Wall-he became emotional expressing that time when people had truly stood united for freedom. It was a passionate and vulnerable side I got to see as a patriot that made me cherish him as a human. I regret not having the opportunity to have spent more time with him... I am really going to miss him.

Please accept my most sincere condolences. I knew Randy when we were kids and he would visit his Salley grandparents in Orangeburg, SC. I am a second cousin. Best wishes, Norman Dowling, Blacksburg, VA.
