Robert Theron Bartlett former Mayor of Monrovia, CA, passed away October 11, 2015. He is survived by his 2 sons, Robert A. Bartlett (Diana) and Robert Bartlett; 3 daughters, Lorrie A. Bartlett (Michael Clayborn), Thursday Herdman (Tom) and Aria Bartlett; 5 Grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ray Bartlett, Jr., Russell Carr (Stephanie) and Darrell Carr (Susan); sister, Carolyn Harris (Rudy); a host of other loving family and many friends. Visitation today, 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.. Services 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 23, 2015, United Methodist Church, 140 E. Palm Avenue, Monrovia. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia. Woods-Valentine Mortuary, Pasadena, Directing.

Mr Bartlett, Bob you gave me an opportunity, and mentored me when I was young and starting out, worked for you as an Administrator Office at PIE trucking, we became aqainted at CA Computer School in Upland, 1988 assisted you with Lotus 123, computers. Although I only new you for a short while, you mentored me, and left a great impression on me. Now 25 years later while working as Senior System Analysis and Administrators in Arcadia Ca, while driving through Monrovia CA , Memorial to Robert (Bob) Bartlett. RIP Sir, Godspeed, you were and are great man!

We are traveling thru Monrovia this 2018 memorial week end and came across Bob Bartlett street
Dean remembers him as being a great guy in high school. We know u must miss him. God bless you

I just learned of Bob's passing when I saw he was to be honored by having the Gold Line maintenance yard named after him, and justly so. I knew Bob in high school and saw him on occasion later on. He was gracious enough to adjourn a city council meeting in my mother's honor when she passed. I knew members of his family, his mother Mary and his brother Russell. I always heard about their sister Peaches but don't recall that I ever met her. Mary was quite a woman and quite a lady, and Bob certainly followed in her footsteps.

Bob was a great leader in his City and State.
His enthusiasm and perseverance was legendary in the whole San Gabriel Valley.
The present day Monrovia is indebted to his skill and leadership .
May he rest in Peace and Perpetual light shine upon him.
