ATTLEBORO - Paul "Tim" Philbin, 84, of Attleboro, MA, passed away on January 26, 2022 at home. Tim was born in Central Falls, RI on November 18, 1937 to his parents the late John and Hermine (Blanchette) Philbin. Tim served our country honorably as a member of the Air National Guard and was a decorated sharpshooter. Tim experienced a variety of careers focused on hospitality and construction / carpentry and ran several of his own businesses. Before retiring he was head of maintenance for the Providence Public Libraries.
Tim was a handyman who would tackle any project - big or small. He eagerly accepted new challenges in work and life, and along with his wife Maureen gave his family countless adventures and memories. He took great pride in his work and maintaining his home and was available day or night to help family and friends with any project. And once Tim started a project he would work tirelessly until it was completed, outworking everyone who was with him. Tim was most at home when outdoors, and enjoyed camping, hiking, snowmobiling, cribbage, nights by the campfire and Sunday's at the beach. He was an avid reader, learner, and teacher, taking time to share his knowledge, experience, and opinion with anyone who asked (or sometimes even if you didn't). Most of all, Tim loved being surrounded by his family, who were everything to him.
Tim was married to the love of his life, Maureen (Morin) Philbin of Attleboro with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and adventures. After growing up in Central Falls and Pawtucket, and moving through New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island (twice), they retired to Twin Mountain, NH, where they lived for 15 years. Tim is reunited with his daughter, the late Tracey Philbin-Vadnais. He is survived by his children: Timothy Philbin and wife Tricia of Pawtucket, RI, Sharon Philbin of Seekonk, MA, Jeffrey Philbin and wife Jill of West Union, SC and Nicholas Philbin and wife Stephanie of Worcester, MA. Tim was a proud grandfather of 8: Victoria Dower, Timothy Dower, Rachel Bennett, Madeline Vadnais, Erin Vadnais, Nicolas Philbin, Alyson Philbin and Marina Philbin. Tim was the loving brother of Lillian Leonard, Patricia Guisti, Lois Holland, Gerald Philbin, the late Dorothy Barry and the late Terrance Philbin.
