Cecil, we are about to sale your home. I am sad because you took such good care of your yard, and it doesn't look like Pa's yard anymore. I found an article from a Northrop paper, your idea of a really great vacation. I pray that you are singing and dancing in Heaven with your brothers and my mom. I love you and miss you very much.

AN HONEST man here lies at rest As e'er God with his image blest; The friend of man, the friend of truth, The friend of age, and guide of youth: Few hearts like his, with virtue warm'd, Few heads with knowledge so informed: If there's another world, he lives in bliss; If there is none, he made the best of this.

I was shocked to hear of Cecil's passing. I have nothing but great memories of him going back to our high school days at Alhambra and Mt SAC. Cecil was always my best friend in those early days. I remember the first time he ran the 400 m hurdles on the old cinder track at Mt SAC. I was going to pace him without hurdles while he ran the hurdles. Very humbling...he kicked my butt badly. I always enjoyed our daily commutes to MSAC and our aircraft engineering class's. I am missing you my
friend.

It's hard to believe that it has been a month since you left us. Someone told me today that the depth of my pain and sorrow over losing you is determined by our relationship and how close we were and what you meant to me. I know that is true. I'm so very sad you are gone, my life is not the same and I miss you so very much it hurts. I pray that you knew how much you meant to me and how much I truly love and respect you. I thank you so much for being in my life; you have made me a better person. I will keep you in my heart forever.

My heart goes out to the whole family. Cecil was a great, kind, big-hearted and loving man. He welcomed me and my kids into his home and always treated us like family. I loved listening to his stories and talking to him about his trains, the fish pond and even the weather. He is loved by so many and will be missed more than words can say. Keep smiling he is up in Heaven, camera in hand still taking pictures of everything and everyone. We love you Pa <3

My deepest condulengences goes out to the whole family.. I had the oppertunity to meet Pa when I was about 14. He was such a sweet man always. Always smiling with that geniune warming smile. From what I knew of him (which unfortunatly was not much) there was not a judgemental bone in his body. He welcomed me into his home without a moment of hesitation even putting up with me and Dee in our crazy teen days. I will always remember his bigbackyard full of things he had built for the kids. I thought was so awesome I had never seen something like it. May you rest in peace always with the Angels in the Kingdom full of love.. P.s. I hope the biggest train track is up their for you. ;) and love you Dee and stay strong.

All I can say is he had a heart of gold and had to be one of the kindest most loving people I have ever known. I don't ever remember my life without Cecil and all of the Hinojosa's for that matter. It's amazing how much he put with with from Tanya and I first as preteens and later as teenagers. I know first hand perhaps better then most the love and life Cecil brought to each and every member of the family, unselfish, unconditional and worthy of every great word we all speak of him today. He is easily one of the most amazing men I have ever had the privilege of knowing, his smile, outlook and enthusiasm for life will stay with me forever. I can't begin to share with you the impact of this man and his nobility had in my life...he always came through for Tanya and I...ALWAYS and I will always respect and love him for the amazing father figure he was to not only Danielle but so many of us when our own fathers didn't bother to invest or follow through in ways that he did with us! I am always and forever going to be grateful that Cecil gave us a safe place to truly be kids and he always encouraged our creativity. May God hold you in all his glory Cecil, you deserve nothing less. You will always live in my heart!

Cecil you were a wonderful man, I truly mean that. No matter what was going on in our lives you always extended your hand to me and always greeted me with a huge genuine friendly smile. When ever I see a train whether it be a toy or the real deal, I alway smile and think about you in your conductors hat. You will be missed.

Words cannot express the love and admiration I have for this amazing man, but I will do my best: Everyone that met Pa, remembers Pa. He was just that kind of man. He was so friendly, so personable, so caring, so funny, and so interesting with his endless stories. But most importantly, he was a HERO! Many have heard the story of him saving a man's life by pulling him from a burning car, while dozens stood by and did nothing. And if you have not heard about it, I urge you to look into it. But that is not the heroism I am speaking of. He is my hero, my guardian angel. He took me into his home and raised me like his own child, even though I am of no actual blood relation to him and he had no obligation to do so. From what I have heard it was a long and tough battle, for him and my wonderful Grandmother, but eventually they got me HOME! He was the only father figure I had ever known and I am proud to say I renamed him Pa, which really stuck ? He (along with Grandma) provided a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table, but most importantly a loving HOME! He always took an active role in my life: schoolwork, cheer, swim, and even gymnastics. This huge man even taught me to do a handstand, I mean physically showed me himself! He knew all my friends and they all loved him, even called him Pa which I know he loved. He was there for me through good and bad and never gave up on me. He was so helpful when I was pregnant with Nathan and even more so after he was born. I am so thankful my son had a chance to know my Pa, as he was a wonderful role model. He was a REAL man, which is a hard thing to find nowadays. They just don't make them like him anymore: hard working, good values, intelligent, giving, and honest. I am so blessed to have had him in my life and will keep his memory alive by striving to be as a good a person as he was and by sharing his many stories. From now on, when people ask me how I'm doing, I will respond with “Well I can't complain, wouldn't do me any good if I did” which was his motto. I have always and will always love my Pa more than word can say. May he rest in peace with his fellow Angels and continue to look over the many people that will miss him dearly.
