Franklyn Dunbar Obituary

DUNBAR, FRANKLYN VICTOR Passed away peacefully April 14, 2007 at his home in Utah. Frank was born March 24, 1939 in Altadena, CA to Adeline Victor and Franklyn Oliver Dunbar (both deceased) and moved to San Jacinto at the age of 3. He was in the first graduating class from St. Hyacinth Academy and in 1958 graduated from San Jacinto High School. Frank married Joan Dunbar in 1960 but later divorced. They had two children, Steve Dunbar and Kathy Knight, both of Hemet. Frank was a business man, owned two auto parts stores, was a planning commission member and active in the San Jacinto Valley in his earlier years. He later married Lanette Dunbar and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. They had 3 children, Charity, Justine and Christian. He continued to be self employed. He loved to get up early, read the paper and have coffee with business partners, friends and family. He would communicate in a unique manner and had a sense of humor up until his final words. Frank loved getting family together and all were present at this time of passing. He is loved and missed by his entire family including 7 Grandchildren.

Dear Lanette and Family,
We are so sorry for your great loss.We are happy to have had the opportunity to have known him for these past years, at Lende and the parties. He did indeed have a great dry sence of humor. I loved the poem he wrote, that was read at the memorial service.
Our thought's and prayer's are with you all.

Love Sam and Marion

Dear Lanette,

I’m so sad to know that Frank was so suddenly ill.

I always had fun talking to Frank before calling Jim to the phone. His phone calls were always full of interesting insights, a little cynicism, a little gossip and often a statement to get a rise out of me – followed by “Huh?” – waiting for my reaction.

We treasure the memories from our “Great European Train Trip” - and all the other good times we’ve had together.

Sending all my best to you.

With sympathy, Sharon Kitchel

Dear Lanette,Justine, Charity and David;
I am so so saddened to here that my very good friend has passed. I was talking to him it seems like only a few weeks ago and he was fine. When I heard he was sick, I was planning to visit him, but this came so suddenly. I will always cherish his smile and will miss his wonderful business advice. In my book Frank was one of the most genuine and caring men I have ever known. We will all miss his kindness, generousity and gentleness. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I love you all, Jim.
