Patrick Adams
Greetings for 'The Boys'
When Patrick Adams would return home from work at Fuji Bank, he would greet not only his family, but the fish in the aquarium at the Adamses' apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn, said his daughter Balynda Adams. "He would come home and say to them, 'How are you doing?' " she said. "He would call them 'the boys.' "

Mr. Adams, 61, was a security officer in Fuji's offices in 2 World Trade Center, working on the 81st floor. After one of the hijacked airliners struck the building and ignited a raging fire, "he called and said he was trapped in the World Trade Center," Ms. Adams said. "We got it on the answering machine."

"He was basically a family man," Ms. Adams said. "He would make sure everything is O.K., everybody is happy." As for his relationship with marine life, it was not limited to the home aquarium. "He liked fishing, and would go to Connecticut to fish," his daughter said.

Patrick, you'd be in your 70s and probably be fishing somewhere enjoying the peace and calm of your hobby. You didn't deserve what happened and even though I didn't know you, I hurt for you and for your family. I wish I did know you, you'd be someone who would be interesting to know. God Bless you and may you be at peace.

To the Adams family,
I had the honor to know and work with Patrick. He was stationed outside of my office at Fuji Bank in the World Trade Center and there was always a certain peace about him.

We would share a few laughs and also talk about his country and at all times I felt nothing but good feelings for him.

I share in your lose and I miss Patrick very much.

God bless you always.

To family of Patrick Adams -
On this second anniversary of the day that changed all of our lives forever, please know that your loved one is always with you in spirit and in your hearts. On the 1st anniversary of 9/11, I sang at a tribute service at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church here in Houston and each person in the church was given a card with the name of someone who was lost in the terror of that day. I received the card with the name Patrick Adams on it. Then I only knew his name and age. Now in reading the entries for Mr. Adams in the guest book, I've found another connection to him I would never have known I had. His pet name for his fish - "The Boys" - that's my pet name for my two cats, Lemone and Rudy.
Today I pray for peace for your family and friends and for our world. God bless us all!

Such a cute story of Patrick talking to his fish. It made me giggle so Patrick is still touching lives in a positive way. We are deeply sorry for your loss of Patrick. May his life and love (along with talking to fish!) continue living in all who love him. May warm memories of times together lighten the pain in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
