It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Patsy Ann Lewis, 75, of Florence who transitioned on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Patsy Ann Gordon Lewis was born on December 9, 1949, in Johnsonville, South Carolina, to the late James Gordon and Beatrice Eaddy Gordon Pressley. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, John and Lula Idell Barr Eaddy. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Patsy peacefully entered eternal rest in
Florence, South Carolina.
Patsy was a proud graduate of the Stuckey High School Class of 1967. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and quiet resilience. She worked diligently at DuBose Manufacturing and The Chic Restaurant, both in Johnsonville, and later at Tupperware Manufacturing Company until her retirement in 2005.
In 1973, Patsy was united in holy matrimony to the late Saul E. Lewis, Jr. Following their union, she became a member of Bethlehem AME Church in Johnsonville, SC. In later years, she also attended and worshipped faithfully at White Chapel Free Will Holiness Church of Johnsonville, where she served the Lord Jesus Christ with steadfast devotion. Her life was a
reflection of her unwavering faith, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and lifting others up through prayer and service.
Patsy was passionate about many things. She was a devoted college basketball fan, cheering on the UConn Lady Huskies and the Duke Blue Devils men's team-especially under the leadership of Coach K. She loved cooking and was well known for her signature hot dog chili and coleslaw. And when it came to the annual Lewis Christmas Shindig Wing-Off, she and
her beloved Saul were an unbeatable pair- as "king" and "queen" of the competition. But above all, Patsy found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Saul E. Lewis, Jr.; her parents; her grandparents who raised her; her in-laws, Saul E. Lewis Sr and Hester Davis Lewis.; her brother, James Gordon; and her sister, Bettie J. Jones.
Patsy leaves to cherish her memory her children: Gloria (Reace) Shird, Natasha (Rodney) Davis, Saul (Crystal) Lewis, Megan (Daniel) Johnson, and Addie (Jeremy) Nowlin; her stepdaughter, Kimyada (Maurice) Broadwater; 18 cherished grandchildren and one beloved great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Barbara DeHart and brother Warren Pressley; sisters-in-law Betty Farrington, Emma Stephens, Catherine Lewis, Patricia Scott, and Lorrie (Lester) Nichols; brothers-in-law Wendell (Julia) Lewis and Vince Lewis; two beloved aunts, Rosa Victoria Gordon McGill and Willa Eaddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her deeply.
Patsy will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for family and fellowship, her unmatched cooking, and most of all, her enduring faith and service to the Lord. She has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Her legacy of love and devotion lives on in all who knew her.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time of loss and remembrance.
