Michael Garm Coleman
Michael Garm Coleman passed away June 10, 2021, from Alzheimer's Disease.
In his earlier years, Mike lived in Colorado and Illinois. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, he moved to Arizona more than 50 years ago to "get out of the cold".
A brilliant engineer, Mike authored numerous patents, co-wrote a book, and was a dedicated business partner. He traveled internationally for business and pleasure, with the people and work in Australia and New Zealand being his favorites.
Mike was a father, friend, and husband. He was a die-hard Cubs fan and supported the Diamondbacks when they came along; hated cable TV until he learned he could watch the Cubs; opposed the lottery, aside from playing the daily Fantasy 5; and wasn't a fan of cats, until he took in the first stray he met and cared for a colony for nearly 40 years where he named each cat.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, John and Phyllis Coleman. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Becky) and Ron (Julie); and his sister, Jill Schultz (Tom).
At Mike's request, no service will be held. As he volunteered more than 3,600 hours following his retirement, donations can be made in his memory to Arizona Friends of Talking Books, 1030 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, AZ 85008 or https://www.azfotb.org/donate
Mike enjoyed good beer and even better wine. Raise a glass to him.
