Danny Flippin, 66, of Nikiski, Alaska died July 16, 2021, at his residence in Nikiski.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, August 19, at the Hunger Hut in Nikiski at 4:00pm.

Danny Eugene Flippin, the son of James and Nancy (Brummett) Flippin, was born on March 31, 1955 in San Bernardino, California. After high school while living in Bellevue, WA, he decided to follow his father to Alaska in 1972. Soon after, in 1973, he joined the Local 302 Operators Union where he would enjoy more than a 30 year career as a crane operator. Danny always had a passion for life. He loved hunting, fishing, darts, pool and fixing up things. He enjoyed cooking and loved to entertain with amazing salmon recipes when family was in town. In retirement he devoted much of his time to helping his many friends in the community.

Danny is survived by his two sons, Derrick (Melissa) Flippin of West Des Moines, Iowa; Jarred Flippin of Nikiski, Alaska; four grandchildren, Addison and Gabriel Flippin of West Des Moines, IA; Kaylee and Emma Flippin of Dallas, TX; his sisters, Janet Duvall and Debie Wolfe of Carnation, WA; and his brother Jim Flippin Jr. of Gracemont, OK. Danny was preceded in death by his parents James Flippin Sr and Nancy Verdugo.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
