Lifelong Kenai resident, EdmarJoe Aguilar Ismael, 27, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, Washington due to complications of Covid -19.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel – 5839 Kenai Spur Hwy – Kenai. He will be laid to rest at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery in Anchorage.

EdmarJoe was born Dec. 13, 1993, in Anchorage, Alaska to Maria and Abou Ismael. He graduated from Kenai Central High School and was currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corp as an Electrician for the past 8 years. He was a member of the Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church, loved fishing, gym, cooking, and video games.

The family wrote, "EdmarJoe (E.J.) was a loving caring father, son and brother. E.J. could always be found with a smile that could light up a room, even on his darkest of days. For 8 years E.J. served in the U.S. Marine Corp where he recently got promoted to sergeant. In the day on the Kenai River catching fish, where he would always draw a crowd, because he would be the only one in the water in shorts! E.J. was such a caring person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He always made sure you knew you weren't alone in a time of need."

He is survived by his son, Brock Ismael of Kenai; wife, Breanna Ismael of Kenai; brother, Issac Ismael of Kenai; mother, Maria Ismael of Kenai and father, Abou Ismael of Kenai.
