Edsel was born Oct 19,1931 in Campbell, Missouri to Pearl and Earl Scott. When he was in the third grade, his family relocated to Flint, Mich. There, he met Margaret Kehr, when he was a senior in high school and they married in 1951.
He joined the Air Force in 1955, transferred to Alaska in June 1956 and worked as a Personnel Specialist until his discharge.  From there, he worked for General Supply and soon became the manager of United Building Supply in Eagle River.  He worked on the North Slope for the next five years then, in 1980, he became a self-employed excavating contractor in Eagle River, as Scott's Excavating.

Alaska Cozy Cabins and made numerous lifelong friends from all over the world.  He was known for sense of humor and his tall tales around the campfire. He closed the business in 2017 and moved into his cabin he built also in Sterling which was his "Happy Place".
Edsel enjoyed woodworking and most of his rental cabins were finished with Alaska birch interiors from the wood he milled himself. In his younger years he loved flying, fishing, hunting and rebuilding his classic car.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie in 2008.
