Sterling resident Emil Juanita "Nita" Wolpert, 88, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at home.

Services will be at a later date in Roslyn, Penn.

Nita was born Dec. 10, 1932 in Danville, Pa. She lived in Alaska from 1971-85 and then again from 2011 until her passing.

Nita is survived by her husband, John Wolpert of Sterling; daughters, Tekoa I. Silvio of Concord, N. Carolina, and Sherri Welch of Visalia, Calif.; grandchildren, Melissa Yaws and Mathew Shoemaker, both of Visalia, Calif. And Sage Solan of Concord, N. Carolina; great-grandson, Silas Elijah Yaws of Visalia, Calif.; and a brother, Dr. L.P. Fernandez of North Augusta, S. Carolina.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
