Michael "Mike" Dimmick

Longtime Alaskan and Kenai resident Michael (Mike) Dimmick, 83, died at his home in Kenai, September 30, 2025. He was buried next to his beloved wife Marilyn in the Kenai City cemetery in a private family graveside gathering.
 
Mike was born and grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. He came to Alaska in 1963, worked various jobs in Anchorage, met and married Marilyn before starting an oil field career on a rig at Swanson River. His oilfield experiences took him to the platforms of Cook Inlet where he worked his way up to platform supervisor for Unocal and others until his retirement in 2005. He and Marilyn raised 5 daughters in Ninilchik. In retirement Mike enjoyed volunteering for many non-profits including Habitat for Humanity, Love Inc., LeeShore Center, Cicada, and KDLL/ Pickle Hill Radio. He was extensively involved and enjoyed serving in the Kenai Elks Lodge and Kenai Methodist Church.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; His parents, Victor and Katherine Dimmick and grandson, Trey Dimmick. He is survived by daughters, Amy Lynn Dimmick of Kasilof, Natalie Ann Stanton of Kenai, Cali Victoria Dimmick of Abingdon, Va., Karen Justina Towle of Anchorage, and Kathryn Margaret Schmidt of Petaluma, Calif.; grandchildren, Christina Kincheloe, Shalena Ruhl, Damon and Alyse Haynes, Mikayla and Robert Schmidt, and Amy Cerney; great grandchildren, Lily Kincheloe, Jillian Mason and Kaos Ruhl; two great-great grandchildren, Everett and Benjamin Maxson.
 
Mike will be missed and would be happy if he was remembered with a donation to your favorite charity.
