Christine Blaney Obituary

Christine Lorelle (Mitmoen) Blaney, 72, passed away on November 6, 2025, in Shoreline, WA. Born on March 13, 1953 at Olympic Memorial Hospital, Christine grew up in Port Angeles, WA, and graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1971 before attending Peninsula Junior College. In 1980, Christine married Stephen Blaney and moved to Narragansett, Rhode Island where she happily resided and raised her two daughters. In 1991, the family moved back to Port Angeles to care for her ailing mother.
Christine dedicated over 30 years to various roles in the medical field, including receptionist, medical records specialist, referrals coordinator, and office assistant. Her career allowed her to forge lasting friendships that she cherished throughout her life.
Known for her fun-loving sense of humor and ability to make friends easily, Christine was admired for maintaining a positive attitude despite enduring significant health challenges over the last 15 years. Her resilience and ever-present smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Christine found joy in numerous hobbies. She was an avid crafter, enjoyed making greeting cards, counted cross stitch, and gardening. Christine also loved reading, playing cards, and solving all kinds of puzzles, which brought her great pleasure and relaxation.
Christine is survived by her sisters, Patricia Conway and Karen Benedict; daughters, Allyson DeKoekkoek and Megan Blaney; and granddaughters, Evangeline and Aurora DeKoekkoek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Murriel Mitmoen.
A woman of deep faith, Christine was a dedicated member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church during her time in Port Angeles. A celebration of life will be held at the church in the new year.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christine's favorite charitable organizations: Compassion International, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or the American Cancer Society, reflecting her lifelong commitment to various causes.
