A wonderful man who always brightened the day with his humor. My thoughts are with Dona and the family.

While I have not seen Verne in decades (late 70's) I quite like him. Very straightforward and kind, with a great sense of humor.
I am sending thoughts to the family and hope they are doing as well as possible with this sad times.

Verne was a great man. I used to get my firewood from him many years ago. Every time I got in my truck to drive away he'd say "Be careful, there's a nut loose behind the wheel." I am so sad to see he passed, but will say he lived life to the fullest. His advice was to never sit down and stop moving. The last time I saw him was when he and Doña renewed their vows at Salt Creek. He was dapper and jaunty that day. :)
