Donna Frazer Obituary

Our dear mother Donna Maxine (Dorvall) Frazer passed away peacefully January 4, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born March 26, 1931 to George Clarence Dorvall and Lydia Louise Grace (Thomas) Dorvall, Donna lived in Port Angeles her entire life. The youngest of six children, she and her siblings grew up on West 5th Street, enjoying a small neighborhood filled with extended family. Donna met the love of her life Ed Frazer, at the local skating rink. After they married in 1949, Mom and Dad took great pride in developing, and meticulously maintaining, their Black Diamond Road home for 68 years!

During the 1970s and 80s, Mom drove a film route for Wayne's Photography, linking PA, Sequim, Port Townsend, and Poulsbo, picking up photo processing orders at various stores along the way, then delivering the photos back to the stores a few days later for customer pickup. Most photos taken with film cameras during that time passed through Mom's hands. She was also a self-taught accountant and managed the financial aspects of Dad's logging business. Mom worked hard and taught us all the values of saving, kindness and helping others.

These were a few of Mom's favorite things: finding blackberry patches at old logging sites, making pies/jams/jellies, making applesauce from the family's apple trees, shelling fresh peas from her garden, and tending her rhodies and African violets. Digging clams and making incomparable clam chowder, gathering oysters, crabbing and making Crab Louie salads. Camping at Dosewallips and Kalaloch. RV travels to Alaska, Branson, Wyoming, California and Arizona; and spending time at their Paradise Bay property. Mowing the field on her riding lawnmower. Singing along to Tennessee Ernie Ford and Jim Reeves records. Watching local baseball games whenever David was playing, and the Seattle Mariners. Reading Louis L'amour and Nora Roberts novels, working jigsaw and word search puzzles. Playing Bingo wherever and whenever, and hitting the casino slots. She enjoyed planning surprises and family gatherings.

Donna is survived by her children Chris (Mike) Primus of Laramie, WY and Port Angeles, Dan Austin Frazer of Palma, Mallorca, Spain; and Dave Frazer of Sequim. She is also survived by her grandchildren David Primus of Sioux Falls, SD; Sara (Gregg) Chriest of Denver, CO; Todd Frazer (Lisa Predovich) of Covington, WA; Brian Frazer (Alison Wise) of Ocean Park, WA; and Kami Frazer, of Seattle; and great-grandchildren Julian Frazer and Ophelia Wise, Elaina and Tessa Frazer, and Amanuel Haile. Her beloved sister, Edna O'Neel of Joyce, WA also survives her along with sisters-in-law Pherecia Thomas of Kingston, WA and Gloria Steiger of Burbank, WA, and 20 very special nieces and nephews and their children.

Donna was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband Ed Frazer, and her son Mike Frazer in 2009, along with her parents, siblings Gertrude Johnson and Clarence, Bill and Bob Dorvall, and nephew Bill Dorvall, Jr.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Stafford, Dr. Ramirez, and the staff at Park View Villas and Highland Court Memory Care for their gentle and kind care of Mom.

Gifts in memory of Donna Frazer may be made to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.

Services are pending future arrangements. Condolences may be sent to Chris Primus, 262 Mariah Winds, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Pictures, memories or stories to share may be sent to Dan Frazer: [email protected].

Got to know her a little bit when I visited my mother in law at Park View Villas. Always enjoyed talking to her about her family, and history of Port Angeles since she was of similar backgrounds of my family. I worked with son Mike a little in the late 70s so that would always come up in conversation
