Erek J. Bird

1955 - 2023

Born to Frank C. Bird and Erika L. Johnson Bird at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, Colorado. We were Air Force brats, transferring with dad from one base to another - Lowry AFB, CO, Castle AFB, CA, Ellsworth AFB, WA, Kincheloe AFB, MI, and back to Fairchild AFB, WA. Erek also lived for a time in West Branch, MI and Big Timber, MT.
Erek worked for Glass Services out of Port Angeles, WA for 27 years. He was a gifted carpenter and through his work he displayed his craftmanship. He was very conscientious, making sure that every job he was assigned was done right, leaving his customer happy.
Erek donated his spare time to helping those around him. He helped the Center Valley Animal Rescue in Quilcene, WA, replace windows where needed and helped build a barn. Being a doting son, he enjoyed spending time with mom. Mom was a member of the Olympic Peninsula Doll Club. Whenever there was a doll show, or fair, you would find Erek helping mom, loading, unloading, and helping her set up her doll displays. He would take mom out for breakfast and lunch on the weekends. They would go on excursions, some down memory lane, to the homes that dad and mom had owned in Port Angeles and Sequim. Other adventures would be taken to the ocean, where he would remove the bench seat out of mom's van, taking it down to the beach so they could sit comfortably and enjoy watching the ocean. Mom loved this!
Erek loved dancing, eating Oysters Rockefeller, and watching the Seahawks. There was no doubt that his biggest loves were his Harley and his dogs. He enjoyed riding in poker runs, going to motorcycle rallies, and traveling to see family and friends. He had a great love for his dogs, Booger and Margarita. Everywhere he went around town they were with him. Thank you, Linda, for loving and taking care of Margarita.

Erek is predeceased by his parents, Frank & Erika Bird and his nephew Christopher S. Bird.

There will be no services per Erek's wishes.
