Robert Larsen Obituary
Former Port Angeles resident Robert N. Larsen Jr. of Shelton, Washington, passed away August 22, 2011, of cardiac arrest.
He was born in Phelps, Wisconsin, to Robert N. Larsen Sr. and Rosella Mae (Werner) Larsen on May 27, 1941.
Robert graduated from Lake Stevens High School, Class of 1959, and joined the U.S. Army that year, serving as sergeant until 1962. He married Jackie Coggin in May 1963.
Mr. Larsen was a member of the Washington State Patrol in Grays Harbor County; worked for Evans Products in Aberdeen, Washington; PenPly in Port Angeles; and Taylor United Shellfish in Shelton until his death.
Robert was a volunteer firefighter in Grays Harbor, Port Angeles and Mason County, serving a total of 43 years. He enjoyed fishing, construction and clam and oyster farming. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandkids.
Mr. Larsen is survived by his wife, Jackie Larsen; son Kent Larsen (Patti Whitney); daughters Angela Larsen (Hector Torres) and Heidi Simpson (Ken Simpson); brothers Dave Larsen (Linda Larsen) and Ed Larsen (Brenda Larsen); grandchildren Nicholas Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Julian Torres, Steven Larsen, Eric Larsen, Adrian Torres and Nicole Ortero; and great-grandchildren Edward and Virginia Ortero.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Shelton Yacht Club, 701 East Pine Street, Shelton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mason County Fire District No. 4

Jackie: It was truely a blessing to see and listen to the wonderful things your children said about their father on Saturday. That was the best celebration of life I have ever attended. We will keep in touch.

Jackie & Family - We were so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was a very nice guy. We always enjoyed visiting with both of you at all the "Blair Picnics". We have wonderful memories of all our friends at this affairs. We hope your memories can help you through these difficult times. Take care of yourself and again we are so sorry.

Angie & Heidi,
I remember going to your house and your dad was always so friendly and kind. He had absolutely no problem showing his pride in and love for his kids. I always thought, "Wow, Angie's dad is so outgoing and interested in his kids--he actually talks to their friends and tries to get to know them!" It was a very positive experience for me to be around your folks. I know you probably miss him terribly. What a good life he had--and what a wonderful job he and your mom did of bringing up kind-hearted, intelligent kids. My best to you and your families.

I had the pleasure of being Bob's barber for many years. I always had such great conversations with him, often sitting and talking after the haircut was finished. Being such a sincere and nice man, I always looked forward his visit to my shop. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

My Condolences to the family, I grew up with Angie and Heidi just down the road from us and was over at there house sometimes, there mom and dad were always the nicest people. I too lost my father June 6th, I know you pain. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
