Roberta Rich Obituary

Roberta (Bobbie) L. Scoles-Smith-Rich left this world on Nov. 11, 2025 at 89 years young. She was born in Port Angeles on April 1, 1936, to parents Robert L. and Arlene Scoles. She graduated in 1954 from Port Angeles High. In the following year, she married Jack L. Smith, moved to Seattle and had her first of five children, a daughter. She also had a son, another daughter and identical twin boys. She moved to Bothell and after 28 years, she and Jack divorced. She worked odd jobs and later married Bill Rich. She lived in Kenmore and Monroe before moving back to Port Angeles and Sequim. Her and Bill divorced and she moved to the Highland Commons in Port Angeles where she spent the last 14 years of her life.
Coming full circle she died at Olympic Medical Center in P.A, after hip surgery complications.
She loved her children more than anything and was so proud and supportive of them. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Smith-Bendt-Beebe living in Tucson, AZ with her partner Richard, her son Jay Smith living in Crescent City, CA, her daughter Cindy Smith-Samuelson-Freid living in Burnsville, MN with her husband Colin, her son Barry Smith and his partner Thai, living in Seattle and her son Curt Smith living in Aberdeen, WA.
She has 5 grandchildren, Chris (Faith) Bendt, Tim (Victoria) Samuelson, Pete (Kat) Samuelson, Sevreina (Chris) Schneekluth, Zach (Taylore) Beebe and Jake Beebe. She has 13 great grandchildren. And sister-in-law, Colleen Scoles and nieces Stephanie Kinney and Kelly Mattison.
She is preceded by her parents, her brother Larry Scoles, nephew Bob Scoles and niece Casey Rooney.
She did not want a memorial service but instead wanted her kids to get together, tell stories and laugh. We are planning something for the summer.
One thing she would want to say is, Do Not Send any friend or relative to Olympic View Post Acute, formerly Crestwood.
