Jeanne Moorfoot, age 89 of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 with her daughters by her side. Born October 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, Jeanne was the daughter of the late John Frank Kirk and Catherine Regina (Mikolay) Kirk. Jeanne retired as a legal secretary with Brooks, Haidt, Haffner & Delahunty Law Firm in New York. She enjoyed doing crafts, creating floral arrangements and seasonal wreaths, taking cruises, and traveling to her favorite destinations of Las Vegas and Hawaii. Jeanne was a great cook but known as an exceptional baker. Her pineapple upside down cake was a family favorite. One of Jeanne's greatest joys was music and she loved attending concerts, singing, and was a wonderful dancer. She was an active participant in the Sing for the Moment Choir, a choir for Dementia patients and their care partners. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lindy Moorfoot. She is survived by her daughters Linda Stewart (Richard) of Carlisle and Laura Moorfoot of Mechanicsburg; a sister Annette Kirk of Northport, NY; two grandchildren Kelly Hoke (Wesley) of Carlisle and Matthew Stewart of Enola as well as two great grandchildren Sophia and Julia Hoke. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, September 27, 2021 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with viewing held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status. We will always remember the good times we had with Jean on a Mexican cruise that ended up in San Francisco and the dinners at her home in NJ. Condolences to the family. Love you Laura Cindy and Anthony
