Kimberly A. Lovejoy
1957 - 2021
Kimberly A. Lovejoy, 64 of Satellite Beach, FL and formerly of Camp Hill, PA passed away at home on September 16, 2021 after a long courageous battle with glioblastoma. Kimmie was born in Harrisburg Hospital on August 26, 1957 to Mary Jane (Bollinger) and George W. Lovejoy. Kimmie was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents and beloved niece Janie Lovejoy. Surviving are her partner and spouse of 31 years Barbara Ferrell of Satellite Beach, her brothers Michael Lovejoy of Gardners, PA, G. Kelly Lovejoy of Dillsburg, PA and her sister Kathleen Sullivan of Camp Hill, PA. She is also survived by her nephews Joshua, Christopher, and Jesse Lovejoy, and great nephews Kylar Frick and Dylan Lovejoy. Kimmie also cherished Diana Eichensehr and the William Sullivan Family of Camp Hill as her own. Kimmie spent 25 years as a special education teacher in the Harrisburg City School District; the latter years at the William Penn Alternative Education program. She truly loved her job and the students she worked with. She enjoyed taking her students camping, getting them involved in the arts and helping them to develop the life skills they would need to succeed after high school. She made a great difference in many of their lives. Prior to her position with the Harrisburg City Schools, Kimmie had worked at Northumberland Center and Holy Spirit Hospital as a therapist. Family and friends were a focal point of Kimmie's life. She will be remembered as a most generous, kind hearted and fun loving person with a true heart of gold. She enjoyed family picnics at the cabin, fishing, camping ,and spending time at the beach. Even after her brain cancer diagnosis, she continued to make everyone feel that they mattered and went out of her way to assist anyone who may have needed a helping hand. She was a very, very special person who will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Services will be held at Rolling Green cemetery in Camp Hill at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kimmie's memory may be made to the Brevard County Zoo (Petting Zone Section) 8225 North Wickham Road Melbourne, Florida 32940, where Kimmie served as a volunteer until she was no longer able.

It was a great privilege to work alongside Kim at Marshall Elementary. She was always so giving of herself to her students and the faculty. Every time I would run into her after leaving Marshall, Kim was always so positive about each and every one of her experiences in the Harrisburg SD. Barb and family members, you are in my prayers during this very sad and challenging time. Thank you Kim, for all of the joy you shared with me.

There will never be a more kind and loving spirit. Her last name summed up her vision of how life should be and people should be treated. I will miss you more than you will ever know. I love you.

Kim worked on my floor at Camp Curtin right before she retired. She was always very kind and helpful to others. Her students were important to her and she always did what was right. I remember when she left our school as she was happy to move to Florida. She was excited to move to a new chapter in life after teaching. I will keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Barb and family, Words are few, but my thoughts are deep. Prayers go out to your Barb and of course the whole family. I was so shocked when Kim took the time to reach out to me and let me know of her illness. Good memories of her and you and all your pups! Wishing you peace, Betty Cunningham

I went to high school with Kim and we were related through marriage (Davis). Kim was such a special person, I remember her fondly and am not surprised she chose a career in which she could impact others. Hopefully her family can find comfort in knowing she touched so many lives.
