Mary Anne Wells, 77, of Hershey, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on July 17th, 2021. Mary Anne was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late James A & Dorothy (Conard) Carr. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Philadelphia and graduated from Little Flower Catholic Girls High School. Following graduation, she was employed by the US Army Audit Agency where she met husband Michael Wells who was a Naval Officer who worked in the same building. They were married on 9/3/66 and then stationed in Iceland where she worked as the Assistant to the Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Information Service Reykjavik, Iceland. At the end of her husband's naval career, they settled in the Hershey area where Mary Anne became a certified Ski Instructor for 21 years. Mary Anne was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey. She was devoted to God, her Catholic faith, and her family. She loved hosting family gatherings, travel, the South Jersey Shore, and exposing her family to ski vacations throughout New England and the Rocky Mountain West. Mary Anne is survived by her husband Michael V. Wells, her daughters Michelle L. Wells and Maureen E. Crum (Anthony) both of Palmyra. Her grandchildren Lindsay E. Caruso of Hobbs, NM and Connor J. Crum of Palmyra. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 5-7PM, in the Hoover Funeral Home, 88 Lucy Ave., Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11AM in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mrs. Wells memory to St. Joan of Arc Parish Capital Fund at 359 West Areba Ave Hershey, PA 17033 Send condolences via the online guest book at www.hooverfuneralhome.com www.pennlive.com/obits
