I was fortunate to be one of the nurses to help care for Mrs. Verber. My condolences to her family and loved ones. I will miss her but comforted that her legacy lives on through her wonderful family. God bless.

So happy we got together in Florida. That would be the last time we saw Shelly. Those were much more festive times.

Dear Mama Shelly, I am completely devastated by the news that you are no longer with us. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my time with you, how we met on a plane, and how you finally invited me and welcomed me into your home with your entire family. I always remember how difficult I made it for you the first few days, but I never forget how someone could make me feel like my mother and my family, so many miles away from my own. That experience made me grow and mature suddenly; it made me a better person, and I will be eternally grateful to you. You were a happy, generous, kind, and patient person, and all of us who have been able to share part of your life with you are fortunate. Like you, I was also born on October 1st and also suffer from multiple sclerosis. I only hope I can always be a better person and as generous and kind as you have been. You changed my life, and I will never forget it, nor will I ever forget you. I love you so much, Shelly, and I hope you rest in peace.
