Donald McKinnon Obituary
Pensacola - Donald Lee McKinnon (Retired Major, U. S. Air Force) passed away on March 22, 2018, at age 96. Donald was born in Pensacola in 1922. He served his country in the military throughout the United States before retiring from the U. S. Air Force with 25 years of service. He later retired from the Accounting Department on Board NAS Pensacola with Civil Service. While very proud of his service in the Air Force, he was most proud of his family.
Donald is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Sullivan McKinnon; 2 sons, Jody and David McKinnon; 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Donald is survived by 3 children, Donald Lee McKinnon, Jr., Mark McKinnon, Lisa Hudson (John); 5 grandchildren, Trey McKinnon (Dusty), Matthew McKinnon, Ashley McKinnon, Christopher Hudson and Cara Hudson; 1 great granddaughter, Samantha McKinnon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Parkway. Graveside services will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jim Stickle officiating.
Special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and the Staff of Waterford at Creekside for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Emerald Coast Hospice or the charity of your choice.
