1954-2011
Donald Allen Reid, age 56, was born October 4, 1954. Don went to be the Lord on January 25, 2011.
Don was a very good man. Don was a roofer for most of his life. He loved his family and friends. He spent the last three years of his life caring for our ill Mom. He endured a lot of hardship and heartaches during these three years, but he was faithful to attend to all of her needs. By his doing this he took a tremendous burden off all the rest of us. Donnie was loved by so many people. He may never have had his own children but all of his nieces and nephews loved him as their second Dad. He was dependable, trustworthy, funny, lovable,
decent, kind and just all around a wonderful man. We all will miss him so much. Donnie was a brilliant
musician, he could play any instrument that he touched. His favorite was the drums and the guitar. He taught his nieces and nephews how to draw. He loved gardening and he had a green thumb. He was just such a special person.
Donald Reid was preceded in death by his Dad, Rezile Reid; his mom, Rose Reid; his nephews, Keith and
Kirk Picotte.
He is survived by two brothers, Joe Reid and wife, Deb and Carl Reid and wife, Jennifer; four sisters, Linda Gates and husband, Larry, Joyce Ward, Carole Henderson and husband, Doug and Betty Reid. He will also leave behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts, and many, many friends. He was well loved and he loved well. We will miss him, but he has gone home to be with the Lord and have a reunion with Mom and Dad.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 with Pastor Joe McNulty officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy is in charge of arrangements.

My dearest condolences to the family.
Donnie was my step Daddy when I was a girl and from my memories he was a very nice guy as well as talented. I remember many nights of him playing the guitar and drums and singing to my mother. I only wish I could have seen him once more.
