Edmond Burkhart, Jr., 65, was born in Middletown, Connecticut on May 20, 1951 to Edmond, Sr. and Sara Burkhart. Ed was raised in Pensacola, Florida most of his life. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Ed is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pywon, children Gena (Che') Cook, Sharra (Anthony) Adams, Ginger Adams, Edmond Anthony (Amanda) Burkhart, Jody (Brian) Baisch , and his grandchildren Paige, Ava, Justin, Maitri, Josie, Stuart and Jamison. He is also survived by his siblings Paula Ponder, Sonya (Scott) Wylie, Beth (Rocky) Bobe, and Brion Burkhart and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Burkhart.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, Pensacola.

Met him in 1970 in basic training. We ran into each other over the next 20+ years in the service. He was a very good friend.

Thinking of you Jr. and your Family......God Be with in Heaven and the lord needed another angel with him....I was thankful i went to visit you while you were in the hospital and saw you one last time. Even tho I didn't get to see you alot through the years I often prayed for your family and wished wonderful things for yall, and Love everyone of you...we all had wonderful memories at your parents home off Flaxman St....wouldnt change one memory there....Rest in Peace friend...and be with your parents again.
