Elizabeth Frances Swirn, 105 of Foley, AL passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 in Pensacola, FL following a stroke.
Born in Essen, Germany on August 21, 1902 the Lithuanian family immigrated to Detroit, MI where she met and married Andrew Swirn. The couple moved to Orange Beach, AL in the early 1940's where they operated a marina and cottage rental business near Wolf Bay. A great joy in their lives were the summers spent with their grandchildren. Elizabeth moved to the house in Foley, built by her father in 1911, to live until February 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Kouns (Archie, Lt. Cdr. Ret.); her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Elizabeth was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star -- Foley Masonic Lodge and the Foley Senior Center. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards and was an active volunteer with Hospice while in her nineties. Elizabeth made friends with everyone she met. She has had a special longstanding friendship with dance partner Harry Crawford.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, october 25, 2007 at the Pine Rest Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Dr. Jay Warthen.
Immediately following there will be a celebration of her life held at the Foley Senior Center.
