George Bellis Obituary
George D. Bellis, age 81, of St. Paul. On January 25th, Retired English Professor & former Naval Officer, '54 graduate of Notre Dame and Catholic University PhD '71. Originally of Birmingham, AL and later Pensacola, FL. Survived by: Maureen (nee Clancy) his wife of 51 years; daughter Susanna Gibbons (Michael); sons Peter (Tracy), Matthew (Dianne), & David (Maggie); grandchildren Ceallach, Cait, Breandan, Rachael, Andrew, Sophie, Olivia, Jerome, Christopher, Patrick, & Jacob; and his brother William of Munich, Germany. His Pensacola Catholic High School Class Of 1950 friends will remember George as a star three-sport athlete, and as a gifted pianist, scholar, and class leader. He loved family and friends, and the white sands of Pensacola Beach and the red clay tennis courts of Bayview Park. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, February 1, 2013 at HOLY SPIRIT Catholic Church, Randolph Ave. at Albert St. St. Paul. Interment National Cemetery. Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday at O'HALLORAN MURPHY Snelling Ave. Chapel 575 So. Snelling Ave. and Friday at Church 1 hour prior to Mass. Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Peace Home. Requiescat in Pace.

My dear dear brother, even though I only had the privilege of seeing you once in my adult life I loved you so much.Awesome man and the time we spent together back in the summer of 1997 will always be remembered.You called me your Southetn Belle sister and said I truly was. Love you George and rest well in the arms of the Father.
