Memories are precious. John was a great person, an excellent leader and fun to travel with. The Trout days were good ones. Our deepest sympathy to you and the Mizell clan.

Kenny and the Mizell Family,
We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your Dad. We both enjoyed some great social events with your folks during our Trout years, and anytime laughter was heard, your Dad was usually the source! We will fondly remember John as a great Patriot, Leader, Mentor and Friend. I personally recall many of my successes with the Minnow were due in large part to John's inspirational leadership and willingness to throw everything at getting the job done correctly. Rest comfortably knowing your Dad was loved by many.

It is with heavy heart that I send you my deep condolence to you and your family over the loss of your Dad. John was a wonderful man and a true professional who worked tirelessly on the Trout while I was there. I could always count on him to get the job done to perfection. He had a keen sense of humor and always had a sparkle in his eye. He will be missed by you and your family but also by all of us who came to know and cherish him.

Kenny, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Although we can't be with you while you remember your loved one, you're in our thoughts and prayers.
Your dad always made me laugh or just put a smile on my face when we worked and played together on trips with the Trout. I remember one trip we were in the kitchen helping Ron get ready for lunch, he showed me how to conserve food. I was impressed the way he peeled the onions. Just the skin came off, no waste. I think of him every time I get stuck with peeling onions.
He was a great asset to the USAF and Speckled Trout.
May God bless you and your family

Kenny and all,
We have lost another great Chief. John was my friend and a great boss back in the "good old days.". Some of my best memories are of working with the Chief on the Trout and Minnow. He taught me a lot and made me laugh. John offered his home to me and a friend a few years ago on a Harley trip to NOLA and we had a great time reminiscing. It is a dreary, rainy day today and it fits the way I feel. Bobbie and I are very sorry for your loss.. Joe Williams, Cape Coral, FL
