Sherry Caruso Obituary

UntitledSHERRY CASSIDY
CARUSO
1946 - 2008

Sherry Cassidy Caruso, 61, of Pensacola, after struggling with a lengthy illness, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 26, 2008.
Sherry was a native and life-long resident of Pensacola. She married the love of her life, John A. "Jac" Caruso, in 1971 while he was stationed in Pensacola. They had two daughters and their family traveled together through his Navy career. In 1982 they returned to Pensacola where he later retired from the Navy and started his own dental practice.
Sherry was involved with her daughter's sports activities and teams. She enjoyed watching them play and helped in many different ways. That kept her busy for years! She was active in the Pensacola NAS Officers Wives League. Sherry loved Tennis. She participated in the Tennis community as a player and a volunteer. She was currently consumed with researching her family's genealogy.
Sherry was a supportive wife, mother and grandmother who was loved as she loved-unconditionally!
Preceding Sherry in death is her father, Roy Lee Cassidy.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Dr. John A. Caruso; mother, Myrtice Cassidy; two daughters, Tricia Showalter (Eric) and Toni Johnson (Darrin); seven granddaughters, Lauren, Hayden, Payten, Tristen, Alexis, Alyssa, and Addison; sister, Diane Goeller (Vic); and brother, Bobby Cassidy (Mona); aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Covenant Hospice for their loving care and support.
Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at PENSACOLA MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.

Dearest Trish, Toni, and Dr. Caruso,
I pray God bring each of you strength during this hour of need! Sherry showed enormous strength, faith, and love to you all during her illness. I still remember her smile and positive attitude; she made us all laugh. I enjoyed my years working with you Doc, and getting to know your family. We had some fun times; Sherry seemed to love goofing off with us at birthday lunches. What a blessing to have such a strong, close family.
God bless you all...and hug those precious girls for me, Trish!
Love,
Aimee Gudinas

I searched among the thoughts I have,
To see if I could find,
The special ones that mean so much,
You’re heavy on my mind.

I cannot find, no not one word,
That capture’s it just right,
For no one else can understand
What I'd like to write.

I find it, oh, so difficult
To try to write it down,
How can I present to others,
The love that you have shown?

I close my eyes and what I see,
Is someone I adored
A person who was beautiful,
Into her very soul.
.
My words cannot describe
The many qualities you showed,
The love and caring nature that
You shared with those who know.

Your kind and gentle temperament,
Your sweet laugh and smile,
Your softly spoken sentiments,
That traveled across the miles.

We smiled, we laughed, we cried
We even conquered fears
I see the smile upon your face
I see the twinkle in your eye.

The loving times throughout the years,
That quickly come to pass,
We shared the many secrets
and then you left so fast.

I struggle now, as I search to find
the perfect words to say goodbye ...
I know I will not find these words
For they cannot exist..

Because of all the memories,
You must simply know,
I’ll keep you in my heart forever,
For those words I do not know..
