Vincent Margiotti Obituary

VINCENT J.
MARGIOTTI, SR.
1921 -2007

Mr. Vincent J. Margiotti, Sr. passed away April 28, 2007. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion, in 2001.
Mr. Margiotti was a native of Newburg, New York, and first came to Pensacola in 1940 as a naval cadet where he met the love of his life. After graduating from Lehigh University in 1950, they returned to Pensacola to become lifelong residents. He was employed by St. Regis Paper Company from 1951 to 1983 with a career in purchasing and warehouse stores.
He was active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later St. Paul's Catholic Church and was instrumental in founding Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Explorer programs sponsored by Sacred Heart in 1950's. After retirement, he was the general manager of the national organization, International Storekeeper Management Association until his retirement as director in 1996.
With a long history of membership in Pensacola Historical Society, the Pensacola Archeology Society, and other historical programs in Pensacola, he will be missed by all involved in those organizations. In addition, he was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus who will provide the honor guard for the funeral. He was also a volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie, of Milton, his son and daughter-in-law, Vince, Jr. and Mary of Pensacola, his grandson, Chris of Milton, his granddaughter and her family, Laura, of Charlotte, NC, and his granddaughter and her family, Kathy, of Plant City, FL. Special thanks to Donnie, Bonnie's fiancé, for his aid during Vince's illness.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel with the funeral service at St. Paul's Church at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. All who knew him are invited to attend.
Instead of flowers, it is requested that donations be sent to the Pensacola Historical Society Trust Fund (115 E. Zaragosa Street, Pensacola) to further support his love of history.
The family would like to offer special thanks for the help and support from "Emerald Coast Hospice" during the last trying days of Vince's life. It is greatly appreciated.
HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
