Marvin Leibering Obituary
Marvin was born in Lamar Feb. 15, 1934, to the late Carl and Marie (Ruehle) Leibering.
Marvin served in the United States Army and was a member of the Santa Claus American Legion Post 242. He was an active member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Santa Claus Volunteer Fire Department, Chamber of Commerce and the Optimist Club. He worked with American Breeders and had a service station in Lamar. He also worked for the town of Santa Claus and owned and operated Leibering Incorporated until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Chris E. Leibering; Granddaughter, Brooklyn Harpenau.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Ellen Leibering; Children, Cheryl Dawn Arnold and her husband, Todd of Lamar; Daryl Fawn Mulzer and her husband, Brad of Lamar; Lana Lea Harpenau and her husband, Jeff of Santa Claus; Grandchildren, Cody Arnold, Brenna Arnold, Caitlin Lubbehusen, Derek Mulzer, Blake Harpenau, Beau Harpenau; Many extended family and friends.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Lamar with Rev. Chip Jahn officiating. Burial is in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home, Youngblood Chapel at 36 E. Market St. Chrisney, IN 47611 and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ.
