Dave was known as a man of a thousand stories. He loved riding his Harley and was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns. He was a well-loved resident of Thornville but was known throughout the whole of Perry County. Dave was a devoted member of Amvets Post 51 and the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge 2434.
Dave is survived by his wife of 11 years, Cindy MacMillan (Swingle); his mother, Ginny Gossett; his brothers, Jim (Christine) MacMillan and Michael MacMillan; step-brothers, Michael (Michelle) Gossett, Joel (Susan) Gossett, and Doug (Anessia) Piascik; step-mother, Kathy MacMillan; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and one great niece due in December.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert MacMillan; and step-father, Lonnie Gossett.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home, 56 South Main St. in Thornville, with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery where Military Honors will be observed to the Amvets Post 51.
Following the graveside service, a celebration of Dave's life will be held at Amvets Post 51, 9293 Township Road 79, Thornville, OH 43076.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Amvets Post 51.
