James H. Brandal

James Brandal passed away in Petaluma on March 5, 2013. Loving father of Tom Brandal (Kathy) and Pam Guterres (Frank). Cherished grandfather of Kim Fowler (Erik), Cortney Brandal (Melvin Malcolm) and the late Carrie Brandal. Adored great-grandfather of Alyssa Fowler, Colby Fowler and M.J. Malcolm. Caring brother of Jack Brandal and Bill Brandal (Belva). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jim Brandal and Verla Dolan started V. Dolan Trucking in 1953 and operated the business until 1975. After selling the business to his son Tom in 1975, they moved to Hawaii where they resided until 1983. While living in Hawaii, he ran in the Honolulu Marathon twice while he was in his 50s. After returning to Petaluma in 1983 he assisted his son Tom with the business, until he retired in 1987. Mr. Brandal proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Hamilton Field.
Age: 85 years.
Private family services will be held. The family was served by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma, CA. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
