Kenneth COFFEY Obituary

Long time Petaluma resident, Kenneth William Coffey, was born June 26, 1942 to William and Marguerite Coffey in Oakland, CA. He passed away peacefully September 4, 2014 at age 72, in his home in Grants Pass, OR.
After graduating from Chico State University, he entered the U.S. Navy as an officer, serving three terms in Vietnam. He then had a long, successful career as a regional manager in the pharmaceutical business. He married Susan Irwin in 1973 and had two daughters. The family moved to Petaluma in 1980. Ken and Susan spent 26 years together, during which time, at the age of 42, he was diagnosed and treated for a brain tumor. They enjoyed many wonderful friends in Petaluma. Although they eventually divorced, they remained friends.
Ken was lifelong friends with Don Ham and kept in touch at reunions. He was also close to his only brother Steve Coffey. In 1996, Ken moved to Grants Pass, OR. In 2012, he married Kate Dewayne.
Ken loved traveling, golfing, boating. He also made beautiful stained glass artwork.
Ken is survived by daughters Meredith (Dan) Douglass, Laura (Dan) Wheaton, brother Steve (Barbara) Coffey, and Kate Coffey. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jillian, Kieran, and Christopher Douglass, Logan and Hunter Wheaton, and three nieces.
His ashes will be spread at sea in a private family ceremony.
