Thomas AGIUS Obituary

AGIUS, Thomas Joseph Tom Agius was a gentleman about town. Known to many beyond his wide circle of friends and large family, he could frequently be seen walking through his beloved native town of Petaluma, where he was born in 1923. Tom, son of the late Angelo and Catherine Agius, grew up in the family business and attended St. Vincent's Academy. After volunteering at Mare Island and serving in the Navy as a young man during World War II, he came back to his home and worked for 30 years in the business of beer and fine wines. He was very social and frequented the best bars and restaurants in the Bay Area. He loved golfing with his friends, gambling, going to the movies and telling amazing stories. He was also a lifelong, loyal fan and season ticket holder to the San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors. He was generous to those around him, and kind. Tom passed away at his home in Petaluma on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He was a loving father to Estelle Rand and was the beloved brother of Ruth Agius as well as the late Angelo, John, Rev. Joseph, Frank Sr., James Sr., Angela, Margaret Agius and Mary Barnes. Dear brother-in-law of Estelle "Topsy" Agius. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly for his gentle demeanor, intelligence and great humor. Private family services were held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma on Friday, May 6, 2016. PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY
