PICKENS — Jasper N. Jennings Sr., 95, husband of Lois Cooper Jennings, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Oconee County, South Carolina on June 30, 1926, he was the son of the late James and Blanche Jennings.
Mr. Jennings was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II, in Europe during 1944- 1946, he was a Sergeant in the United States Army 381st Military Police and a recipient of the Bronze Star. Mr. Jennings retired in 1989, as a plant manager at Brunswick Mills.
Jasper is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Cooper Jennings ,whom he married in 1951 and they have shared 70 wonderful years of marriage; sons, Neal Jennings (Janice), Brent Jennings, and John Jennings; daughter in law, Leshia Jennings; siblings, Manetta Smith, Patricia Owens, and Charles Jennings; grandchildren, Ivey Jennings, Joey Jennings (Sarah), Lane Jennings, Caroline Jennings, and Ben Jennings.
Jasper is predeceased by a son, David Jennings; a daughter, Millicent Jennings; four brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Sandifer Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jasper's memory to Meals on Wheels, 349 Edgemont Ave. Liberty, SC 29657 or Patriot Hospice, 101 Grace Drive, Easley, SC 29640. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com.
