CENTRAL — John Robert Wisham, 51, of Central, S.C., passed away on Aug. 21, 2018. As was usual, he was surrounded by his family and numerous close friends. John was born a firecracker on July 4, 1967 and lived up to that his entire life.
His father, Bill, taught John to love farming, gardening, and anything involving the outdoors. John was most proud that he was able to find and purchase his father's John Deer tractor, which he used to farm with himself. His mother, Edith, was John's first love, and if you ever saw John with his mother, there was no doubt that John was a mama's boy.
John graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary School, which he affectionately called "Guts and Bones." Most of his life John was a business owner, doing anything under the sun.
John's second love and soulmate was Lynn, and if you spent time with the two of them, you were lucky. The pair were a force to be reckoned with, able to get anything done they put their minds to. John's passion for Lynn was evident in every breath he took.
John's hobbies included gardening, hunting, the annual trip on the World's Longest Yard Sale, and of course, tailgating for Clemson football.
John was also proud that he was able to move both of his brothers back to Central after they had been away from home for many years.
John's father, Bill passed away in 2001. He is survived by his mother, Edith, brother Larry (Mela), brother Dale (Debbie), sister Connie (Billy), Lynn's brother Ed (Karen). John also deeply loved his surviving nieces and nephews Jason, Hunter, Meggan, Leslie, Tyler, Caroline, Jared, and Hayden. He had numerous great nieces and nephews as well. His special friend was Griff, a woman who he loved and loved to give a hard time.
Services were held at the Spittoono Field in Central, S.C., on Sunday, Aug. 26 with visitation starting at 1 p.m., services at 2 p.m. Casual Clemson or Spittoono attire were requested. A celebration tailgate followed and everyone was asked to share their favorite story of John.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Road 18 Charities, 1467 Eighteen Mile Road, Central SC 29630.

We are so sorry to hear of John's passing. We missed him in the Dominican this year and we were already sad that we didn't get to enjoy vacation with him but are saddened more because we won't be able to again. He was such a kind of fun person and he will be missed. No John, we still didn't get the "mercer". The Sampson Family- Sheridan Wyoming

John was my first "boyfriend" when we were 5 years old. He was exactly 10 days older than me. We spent countless hours exploring the neighborhood on our bikes (back when it was safe for 2 - 5 year olds to do that) We went to Kindergarten and first grade together. I am so sorry to hear about his death. I will always remember that crazy little boy.

john always loved to buy candy when he would come in the store. a couple years ago he bought a bag of sour patch kids. like all the other gummies, he threw a handful in his mouth. well he immediately regretted the decision and had to sit in his truck to catch his breath. he came into the garden center white faced and told sheila the cashier she about needed to do CPR because he couldn't catch his breath they were so sour. he never bought sour patch kids again! will never forget his ability to put a smile on someone face.

John always had a joke or silly comment to make people laugh, and was always willing to help out if we needed him to fix something . Being cousins I guess we understood each others crazy sense of humor. He loved his wife and was a hard worker. I am so sad to hear this news... Prayers to the entire family; he will be missed.
