PAUL STONE Obituary

Paul G, Stone, 92, of Clarksville, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital-Lake St. Louis, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Visitation was Monday, Dec, 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Mo. Then, services were officiated by Pastor Rod Ohmes at 1 p.m. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Antioch Cemetery near Cyrene, Mo., at a later date.

Paul was born Dec. 1, 1931, to Paul Kennedy and Althea Dawson Stone at their home near Louisville, Mo. Paul was the second of four children. His siblings were Mary (John) Raufer, Shirley (Tom) Leggett and Carl (Daphne) Stone.

Growing up, he faithfully attended Indian Creek Baptist Church where he was baptized at 10-years old. Paul worked on the family farm with his father and brother before joining the air force where he served in Washington State, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada during the Korean Conflict.

On Jan. 20, 1957, Paul married Bonnie Jensen, who along with their four children and many grandchildren, survive him. A sister-in-law, Doris Jensen- Cadwallader and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends also survive him. Paul's parents, in-laws Price and Ellen Jensen and Bobby Jensen, and siblings and their spouses all died earlier. JoEllen Engelbart also died earlier.

Settling down in Pike County, God blessed Paul and Bonnie with a thriving family. First came Barbara (Clifford) Colbert of Clarksville, Mo. Their children are Christopher (Madalyn) Colbert and Caitlyn Colbert. Great grandchildren are Mabry and Dawson Colbert. Next came Terri (David) Engelbart of Elsberry, Mo. Their children are Matthew (Lane) Engelbart and Shelly (Jimmy) Munson. Great grandchildren are Ross Engelbart, Stone, Warren and Louise Munson. Then came Keith (Shonda) Stone of Lake St Louis, Mo. Their children are Andrew (Amelia) Stone and Shelby Stone. Finally came Lisa (Rob) Monsees of Columbia, Mo. Their children are Mattie, Jake and Grace Monsees.

Paul was a devoted husband and father. He worked hard and led by example and set the bar high for others. He didn't miss events his children were involved in if at all possible and made certain the family worshiped together each week.

Paul received his bachelor's of science in engineering in 1960 and became a professional electrical engineer in 1967. His engineering career took him around the world. He enjoyed serving the Lord in the church as a deacon or teacher and served on countless missions locally or as far away as Alaska, Alabama, Louisiana, South Dakota and Wyoming. He served four years with the Louisiana Celebrate Recovery team and more recently on CarePortal visits alongside Barbara. Before that, he served in prison ministry for nine years at the Northeast Correctional Facility in Bowling Green and was a member of Gideon's International for 35 years where he took part in many Bible distributions at various schools, hospitals, and motels.

Pall bearers were Matthew Engelbart, Christopher Colbert, Andrew Stone, and Jake Monsees.

Honorary pall bearers were Jack Holland, Mark Purves, Richard Ray, Dennis Bequette, Vern Blaylock, Jim Boyd, Ed Wheeler, Caleb Brown and Ryan Brown.

Memorials may be made to Gideon's International or St Jude's Research Hospital.
