Albert Frasier Obituary

Albert S. J. Frasier Jr. NORFOLK - Albert S. J. Frasier Jr., 93, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 in Wilson, N.C. He was the son of the late Albert S. J. Frasier Sr. and Lillie C. Frasier. A native of Norfolk, he relocated to Wilson of Dec. 7, 2004 to be near his loving sister, Doris Frasier Capps and brother-in-law, Robert G. Capps, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were sisters, R. Charlotte Frasier, Elizabeth M. Frasier, brothers, Charles C. Frasier and sister-in-law, Anna J. Frasier, Henry C. Frasier and sister-in-law, Ruth H. Frasier; and his great-niece, Wendy Summers Frasier. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Karen A. Frasier of Manassas, Va., Charles C. and Francine S. Frasier of San Diego, Geoffrey, Elizabeth, Wayne, William and Lily Frasier of Portland, Ore., Steven D. Capps, Thomas G. Capps, and Sharon F. Capps of Wilson, N.C., and other friends and family. Albert was a graduate of Matthew Fontaine Maury High School in 1936. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theater. He was a member of the VFW and a lifelong member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Albert was the chief engineer along with his beloved father of the famed Monticello Hotel in Norfolk for many years and also served the fine State of Virginia as a journeyman and master plumber. He was an avid gardener and shared much of his fresh produce with friends and neighbors through the years. He graciously cared for his family throughout his life and lived in the family home his father built at 3116 Verdun Ave. in Norfolk. He was the most wonderful chef, always preparing the turkey and Smithfield ham for all the family and friends to perfection for them to enjoy, along with the famous Christmas eggnog. He always welcomed all to his home for a visit and to partake in meals together. He had great faithfulness and will be truly missed. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, in Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Frasier family plot in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at their home. H. D.
