Arthur Prunier Obituary

Arthur Richard Prunier

Norfolk - Arthur Richard Prunier, 84, passed away on June 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Clement and Loretta Drolette Prunier, and wife Virginia Goodwin Prunier.

Arthur was a graduate of Granby High School where he proudly played varsity basketball. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. By profession he was a union bricklayer and proud of it! He contributed to the brick & block work on many of the schools, hospitals, larger commercial buildings in the Hampton Roads area and specialty archway work at Regent University. After retiring in 1990 he took up various hobbies. He was a steadfast fan of the Atlanta Braves and of Duke basketball.

He is survived by his sister Judith Klages, children Arthur (Crystal) Prunier Jr., Laura (Robert) Taylor and Jeff Prunier; grandchildren Chris Enos, Emily Taylor, Martha VanSickle, Krystle Steepe; 9 great-grandchildren (Caleb, Lilia, Elijah, Isaac and Luke Enos; Bryce & Maya VanSickle; Alexus & Robert Steepe); and his beloved chihuahua Bentley.

According to his wishes Arthur will be cremated.

Arthur was a great guy. I'll never forget how he shared some of his baseball card collection with my son, Tyler. He was interactive & enthusiastic; he liked sharing his knowledge and involvement. I was lucky he was my uncle. RIP ...
