Arvel McCready Obituary
Portsmouth - Arvel McCready, 72, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 1, 2014. Arvel was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War Era. Arvel retired as an electrician in shop #06 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Pemberton; brother, Jean McCrady; devoted niece, Ellen Daniels. Arvel leaves behind many other loving relatives and will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, Chapel Churchland by Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Thursday from 6-7p.m. To honor his love of children the family suggest memorial contributions to CHKD.
