Bennie Bacle

Bennie Bacle VIRGINIA BEACH - Bennie Bacle, 85, passed away peacefully June 13, 2010 with his family by his side. Mr. Bacle was born in Louisiana, to the late Felix and Della Bacle. Bennie was preceded in death by his son, Peter Bacle. He was an avid hunter and loved listening to bluegrass music. On the weekends, you would find Bennie and his wife at the race tracks watching NASCAR. Bennie served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Mexico, Korean War on the USS Boxer and USS Oriskany then retired during the Vietnam War on the USS Consolation. After retiring from the U.S. Navy after 21 years, he later worked for the U.S. government as a welder and then retired as an inspector. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years Nellie; daughter, Neva; sons, Bennie Jr. and his wife Brenda, Mike and his wife Susan, Bruce and his wife Lisa; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lovell Everett; and brother, Charles Everett. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 17, at 3 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel.
