Carroll Ditteaux Obituary

Carroll Relihan Ditteaux VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Carroll Relihan Ditteaux, 69, formerly of Pearson, Ga., left this world Saturday morning, March 19, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. Carroll was born July 13, 1941 in North Carolina to the late J.C. and Lucille Relihan. She spent most of her youth in Pearson, where she graduated from Atkinson County High School in 1959. She moved to Virginia in 1974. Carroll retired in 2000 after 26 years in the property management profession. She loved hosting annual family reunions in Fernandina Beach, Fla., where she cooked and entertained for her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling with her friends and had been active in the senior bowlers? league, in which she won Senior Bowler of the Year 2008 at Pinboys at the Beach. Carroll was predeceased in 2006 by her son, John Britt Mosher. She is survived by her husband, Anthony; her son, Andrew Mosher; her daughter, Jane Fine; and a beloved granddaughter, Hannah Walker, whom she doted on. Also surviving are two stepsons, Anthony and Mark; a stepdaughter, Marybeth Thompson; along with eight stepgrandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are three brothers, Malrie "Buddy," John and George Relihan, their wives; several special nephews and a very special niece, Kaycee Rucker; also, two cherished cousins, Ann Pace and Virginia Batten. She is also remembered by other extended family, dear neighbors and many caring friends. Services for Mrs. Ditteaux were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the First Baptist Church in Pearson, with the Rev. Jerry Worzella officiating. The interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were, Jake Relihan, Ryan Relihan, Brant Relihan, Matt Rucker, Donald Batten, and Charles "Buddy" Browning. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, was in charge of the arrangements. The family will also hold a memorial service in Carroll?s honor at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Oceanfront Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or other charity of choice.
