Charlotte Davis Obituary

Charlotte L. Davis VIRGINIA BEACH - Charlotte Lorraine Davis, 68, passed away Oct. 25, 2009, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with breast cancer and myelodysplasia. She was born Jan. 25, 1941 in Aulander, N.C. She was preceded in death by her father, Jarvis Pierce; husband of 40 years, Charles R. Davis; and infant son, Richard Leroy Watts Jr. She was retired from civil service as an accountant. She volunteered for the Citizens Committee to Protect the Elderly. Charlotte enjoyed her extensive travels with her husband and family. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mavis Mueller; daughters, Sherry Chinn (Gerald), Lisa Klingler (Dennis), and Vicky McArthur (Shane); five grandchildren, Carla, Erica, Joey, Ashley, and Denise; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Emily; one great-grandson on the way; brother, Bert Mueller; sister, Beth Dionne; two uncles; one aunt; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Our mom was the sweetest most giving woman and always showed unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Sentara Leigh Hospital for the compassionate care they gave our mother. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the funeral home. You may pay condolences to the family at www.mem.com.

We are so deeply sorry for your loss. Charlotte Lorraine was a sweet lady and I enjoyed getting to know her over the years and taking care of her at the office. Remember all the good and happy times as that will help during this very difficult time. She will truly be missed.
