Charlotte Ann Robertson Sykes

1941 - 2021

May 28, 1941 - February 9, 2021. On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Charlotte Ann Robertson Sykes, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away at the age of 79 years. Charlotte, attended Crestwood High School and was employed by Cradock High School and Gwaltney Foods. Charlotte faithfully served as a devoted deaconess, member of the senior choir, member of the women's ministry and numerous other ministries at First Baptist Church West Norfolk.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rudolph V. Sykes, Sr., her sister, Mildred Bennett (Garland, Sr.), and her parents Helen Dean Robertson Grant and Charlie Robertson. Charlotte will be forever remembered and loved by her devoted sons, Rudolph, Jr. (Sheryl) and Charlie Quincy (Bernita), her grandchildren, Tiffany (Jonathan, Sr.), Brittnie (Robert, III), Rubi (Rashad), Charlie, and Shelby, and her great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jr., Elle, Olivia, and Robert, IV. Also, to honor her memory are her surviving brother- and sister-in-laws, William (Delores), Harry (Marion), Thomas (Vicky), and Beverly, as well as her niece, Marsha, and two nephews, Michael (Beverly) and Garland, Jr., and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear close friends.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday, February 17th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, Virginia 23704.

A Celebration of Life ceremony and burial will be held Thursday, February 18th at 11:00 AM at Roosevelt Memorial Park Cemetery, 1101 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320. Face masks and social distancing will be mandatory. www.fisherfuneral.com
