Corey Rooney Obituary
Chesapeake - Corey James Rooney, 43, of the 4000 block of Nina Dr., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a foreman for Virginia Sprinkler Co.
He is survived by his wife Becky Insley Rooney and a daughter Christina M. Rooney of Chesapeake.
A memorial service will be held 4 PM Saturday December 12, 2015 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Brady Piper. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Toys For Tots.

So sorry for your loss Becky. My heart bleeds for you. I know what it's like to lose your soul mate so suddenly. This year will be the hardest but it does get better. I recommend grief counseling it helps a lot.

On Saturday morning we were on the road and i was praying for you guys but especially for Corey. At that moment and the roads were clear from any traffic a motorcyclist appear on Rays side of the car. and the motorcylist had a black leather jacket and helmet and on the back of his jacket had name of his club name. but all we could see clearly was the first letter which was D. and I touch my husbands shoulder and said corey came to say hello and goodbye. And the person turned his face towards our car window for a sec. and smiled and notted his head. I remember Corey doing that every morning when he was off to school with my daughter and his brother.. We love you Corey and have a fantastic ride to where you are heading , godbless...As for Rachel and Joe " Job well done"...Now it is time to honor him the way he would have wanted you too.. Put your feet up, hold your heart still, peace will come..keep your self strong because you have a daughter in law and a grandchild to share memories with for the rest of your lives.. ok

I don't have your number to reach you but know tomorrow my whole family and you know how many of us their are "enough to pray a whole rosary for Corey to hold you up tomorrow because that is where he will be, as well for Joe and michael and his family. We always kept our kids safe when they were young and they played together , walked to school together,trick a treat together but most importantly made sure no harm ever came to them. Share birthdays, proms,graduation etc. you guys know and then you moved away and that was heartbreaking, But after hearing of Coreys passing never felt that kind of pain. Our hearts and prayer are with all of you and Corey's wife and daughter.We will be praying for calm in your hearts and for a bright road for him to ride into to meet his maker and make him an angel to watch over all of you guys..so so saddend by this news and i know we have wonderful memories of Corey. Rachel and Joe and Michael we never forgot you guys we just had new roads to take..love you guys

I never knew or met Corey. I was one of many motorist driving past the scene on saturday. My spirit was deeply sadden and grate compasion for the family came over me. I'm a biker as well and know the joy he must have felt on saturday while ridding his bike. My deepest and most sincere prayer went out to the Rooney family on saturday as I continued on my journey. I would like to someday meet the family in person to share my expierence that day
